We were very pleased to host our 19th Annual Apprentice Recognition Dinner on November 30th at the The DoubleTree by Hilton in London!

Local 1059 leadership, Training Instructors, Business Representatives and staff, industry partners and signatory contractors, along with a few special guests we were honoured to have join us, including City Councillor Steve Lehman, MPP Rob Flack, and via video message, Ontario Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development David Piccini as well as MPP Peter Fragiskatos were pleased to recognize and celebrate 77 apprentices who completed Advanced Level Trade School in 2023 and earned their Certificates of Apprenticeship. 

The evening was emceed by Local 1059’s In-House Legal Counsel Lauren Donohue, and Business Manager Brandon MacKinnon and Training Director Mike Ropp shared messages of pride and congratulations with our graduating apprentices, whose skills and hard work are quite literally building our communities. 

We’re incredibly proud of the achievements of our apprentices, and thankful for the invaluable partnerships we have established with our signatory contractors, who are central to the mentorship and success of our apprentices. We wish each of you the very best in your careers going forward, and we look forward to serving and representing you as part of the Local 1059 membership for many years to come!
