We have your back

Local 1059 Wellness Centre

Local 1059 is proud to set the standard for services we offer to our members and their dependents. In 2020, the members-only, on-site Wellness Centre at 635 Wilton Grove Road expanded to include a chiropractic/massage clinic and dental studio in addition to the existing optical centre. These covered services are exclusive to eligible Local 1059 members and their dependents, and since these services are billed directly to the Local 1059 Benefit Plan, no out of pocket expenses are required when you use the Wellness Centre for your optical, dental, and chiropractic/massage needs.

Optical Centre

LiUNA Local 1059 currently offers a complete optical benefit plan to its eligible members and their dependants. The on-site, members-only Optical Centre offers eye exams, frames, lenses, contacts, as well as enhancements like anti-scratch coating and transition lenses. The Local covers all costs up front, so no out of pocket expenses are necessary.

Dental Studio

LiUNA Local 1059 is proud to offer on-site dental services to members and their eligible dependents. As with our Optical Centre and Chiropractic/Physiotherapy/Massage Clinic, the Local covers all dental fees up front, so no out of pocket expenses are necessary when you use the on-site Dental Studio for your dental care needs.

Chiropractic, Physiotherapy & Massage Clinic

LiUNA Local 1059 is proud to offer on-site chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage therapy services to members and their eligible dependents. The Local covers all costs up front, so no out of pocket expenses are necessary.

Giving Back

LIUNA Local 1059 is committed to building stronger communities. We do this not only by working on infrastructure and buildings, but by providing all workers with greater opportunities, benefits, and standards for a better work-life balance, so they can enjoy and contribute to the communities in which they work and live.

United Way Elgin-Middlesex

In 2022, Local 1059 held its 22nd annual member and employer charity golf tournaments in support of United Way Elgin-Middlesex. With generous support from our members, signatory employers, and industry partners, we were thrilled to raise $160,000, bringing the total amount raised for United Way to almost $1.7 million since the Local started hosting the charity golf tournaments in 2001.
