Congratulations to the recipients of this year’s James MacKinnon Local 1059 Scholarship awards!

We’re proud to announce that 25 deserving students — each one a Local 1059 member or dependant — earned over $41,000 in scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

Applications to the James MacKinnon Local 1059 Scholarship Fund, now in its fifth year, were once again very competitive. A special thank you to the Independent Review Committee who volunteered to make the tough decisions:

LiUNA Local 1059 established the James MacKinnon Local 1059 Scholarship Fund in 2019 to assist our hard-working members and their spouses, children, grandchildren and legal dependants in funding their post-secondary education.
